What the game collects.
Last updated 2026-10-25. Terrestrial is made by Chronet Studios (Celium Pty Ltd, Australia). This covers the game on Steam and the servers we run. Contact: hello@chronet.gg.
Terrestrial is an early, online-only game, so some data has to travel between your computer and our servers. We collect only what we need to run the game, keep it fair, fix bugs and improve performance. We do not sell your data and we do not show advertising.
What we collect
Account. You sign in through Steam. We receive your Steam ID and display name, never your password or payment details. For statistics and abuse limits, your Steam ID is turned into a keyed or daily-rotating hash.
Gameplay data. We store your character, appearance, inventory, money, properties, vehicles, jobs, settings and progress, for as long as your account is active.
Chat and commands. Chat (local, private, organisation and party) and slash commands are logged for moderation with time, name, channel and text; local chat includes position. Voice chat is relayed live and is not recorded.
Bug reports (F3). A report includes your note, a screenshot, your position and game state and recent client log lines. Reports are filed only in a private tracker.
Anonymous hardware and connection statistics. On by default; turn it off in Settings > Privacy. It sends one hardware survey when you join (game version, operating system, language, CPU, RAM, graphics adapter and driver, displays, graphics settings, laptop or desktop, drive type and free-space band, input device types), connection and performance measurements while you play (ping, jitter, loss, bandwidth, frame times, hitches, peak memory, area name), load times, and after a crash a minidump with the game version, graphics adapter and recent log lines. It never includes your name, computer name, IP or MAC address, serial numbers, file paths, installed programs, running processes, window titles, browser data or audio device names.
Server logs. Our servers see your IP address while you are connected, as any online game server does. Gameplay traffic goes through Steam's relay network, so other players never see your address.
How long we keep it
Character and progress: while your account is active. Ordinary chat and command logs: 30 days. Chat attached to a report: 90 days. Staff action records: 180 days. Hardware and connection statistics: 90 days. Crash reports: 90 days.
Turning it off, and deleting your data
Turn off the statistics setting and the game stops sending immediately; the server rejects further statistics and deletes the records stored for that connection. To ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your data, email hello@chronet.gg with your Steam ID. We reply within 30 days. Some records may be kept longer to handle a moderation case or a legal obligation.
Who we share it with
Valve (Steam) for sign-in, relay and the store; service providers that host our servers, database and private issue tracker, who act on our instructions; and authorities only when the law requires. Data may be processed on servers in Europe and other countries.
Children, security and changes
Terrestrial is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. Data is sent encrypted and access is limited. If we change this policy in a way that matters, the game's Welcome notice and the date above will change.
