Changelog 0.3.30
Build your own place, run a real business, fish for real, a Halloween zombie night, an underwater reef, a new HUD and a world that speaks beside the thing you are looking at.
- NewThe world now speaks. Doors, machines, shelves and vehicles show a small panel right beside them with the keys for each action, instead of a menu in the middle of the screen. Look away and it fades.
- NewTalking to people has a new look: their line appears near the bottom of the screen with a typewriter effect, and your answers are listed underneath. Pick with the number keys (or W, S and E), and Esc leaves. Long speeches split into pages.
- NewBusiness accounts: every organisation now has a shared account in the Bank app with deposits, withdrawals, a statement and a permission for each rank.
- NewPayroll: owners can set a daily wage for each member (up to $2,000 per game day). Wages are paid at the start of each game day to members who were online for at least 10 minutes, minus income tax.
- NewFunded buy orders: post an order for up to 500 of an item, lock the money in the business account, and let other players deliver goods to your receiving crate for instant bank payment.
- NewPlayer shops: place shelves in your property, stock up to 12 kinds of goods each, set prices from your phone, and customers buy straight off the shelf. Sales tax is already inside the price.
- NewCCTV cameras for organisations: a 70 degree, 12 metre view that logs who walked past (masked people are logged as "Masked person" with their clothing colour). Read the log in the Bank app's CCTV tab or at the camera.
- NewBreak-ins on a business property now alert every online member and put the last five minutes of camera sightings into the police evidence.
- NewPrinting: design posters, menus, signs and photo prints in the Market app's new Print tab, buy paper reams at Susan's Deli & Grocery, print at the Rockford Copy Counter or your own Print Shop Printer, and stick the results on walls.
- NewPhoto mode (F10) now captures photos you can print (F8). Report offensive prints: three reports hide a design for everyone.
- NewElectricity meters: generators, solar panels, wind turbines, batteries, the plug box and anything that needs power show an ELECTRICITY meter with output, load, fuel burn and how long a generator will run.
- NewTwo new settings under Settings > Interface: Large in-world panels, and Reduce motion now covers the panels.
- ChangeThe mayor's treasury, tax rates, electricity price and laws are now saved, so a server restart no longer resets them. If the server restarts while you are Mayor, log back in within 15 minutes to keep the office; after that it falls vacant.
- ChangeThe chat log fades out while a panel overlaps it, panels are easier to read in bright and dark scenes, and a short hint shows you the Details, More and Esc keys the first few times.
- ChangeRig readouts, vehicle and seat prompts, door menus and containers use the same panels, so everything looks and behaves the same way.
- ChangeBug reports (F3) now carry more detail for us, with the personal bits scrubbed first.
- BalanceA Receiving Crate costs $150, a Player Shop Shelf $220 and a CCTV Camera $350 at Rockmart, plus delivery.
- FixPepperball marks no longer float in mid-air when they hit nothing solid.
- FixPlaced posters and signs show their own design to everyone, not a generic "Printed design".
- FixShelf stock now shows up in the shelf panel, with every buy option.
- FixPaper reams are back on the shelves at Susan's Deli & Grocery.
- FixPrinted items you drop show up as proper objects on the ground.
- Change[event] Halloween: from October 31 to November 2, zombies roam Rockford. They notice you, chase, come in hordes and can be shot or fought off. Zombies are always out during the event (31 Oct - 2 Nov) but much faster, smarter and stronger after dark. Stay near light, stay together, or stay indoors. The event ends on its own after November 2.
- NewPlots and building: buy a plot on the map's East Frontier and build on it with 166 pieces (walls, floors, roofs, doors that open and lock, lamps, furniture, wall and ceiling mounts). Prebuilt blueprints, undo within 30 seconds for a full refund, plot tax, resale and a new rail-and-list build menu. Your plot and everything on it survives a server restart.
- NewRentals, placed things and print jobs now survive a server restart (rent is paused while the server is down).
- NewFishing is redesigned: 19 species, a bite model that depends on water, depth, time, season and weather, a real rod with a turning crank, a line-tension fight, a cooler and log, and Jonah buys your catch and sells gear. A reef bite zone is added in the sea.
- NewReef and underwater: a baked coral reef (staghorn, brain, table and fan corals, kelp, critters) and one consistent underwater look with light shafts and a sand seabed.
- NewOcean and beaches: lit teal open sea, wave-timed swash and foam, wet sand, a breaker line, boat wakes and bow spray, reflections of the scene in the water, and beaches with wrack lines, shells and swaying dune grass.
- NewOil rig: take a shift alone at reduced pay or as a crew, with a deck winch for the single-handed work and a clearer stage guide. The rig helicopter ride is fixed (no more standing on top of it or being dragged along).
- NewBars and the Casa: food and drinks are now physical. Order screens on the wall, customers hold their meal, carry supplies to restock, a real pint glass and cocktail glass, and a drive-thru order panel that docks to the side in a car. The order taker shares the tip.
- NewNew HUD options: a PEAK-style segmented health bar, a glass minimap you can put bottom left, top right or turn off, map size and glass strength, a compass, condition icons, a compact Tab info row with a colour legend, and a Pulse link.
- NewPBR materials are on by default: metals and surfaces react to light, trees and conifers look warmer, bus glass is clearer.
- NewEast Frontier map work: a rebuilt tunnel road and lining, a reworked harbour with the landside buildings cleared, new north-west beaches, and the two original Pinewood cabins are back.
- NewServer stats page for the playtest (/api/stats) with leaderboards and events.
- ChangeFresh restarts no longer lose the mayor's office if you return within 15 minutes.
- FixA long list of reported issues: invisible walls, road holes, grocery cookware, snow patches on asphalt, white glare on car dashboards in 26 vehicles, black props on the rig, shelf stock display, and pickup of printers, barrels and machines.
- FixSecurity pass: bug report text, print design ids and CCTV edge cases hardened.
